Why accuracy is the number to watch
Clicking faster is easy. Clicking faster without missing is the hard part, and it is the only part that transfers to anything.
So a miss is counted here. Any click that lands on the empty area is added to your total clicks and pulls your accuracy down, and the score at the end is your rate scaled by that accuracy. Spraying clicks at the screen produces a fast time per target and a worse score, which is the correct outcome.
Pick a target size and stay with it
Three sizes, and they are not difficulty levels so much as different skills. Large targets measure how fast you can move; small ones measure how precisely you can stop.
Best scores are kept per size and per mode, so switching does not overwrite the one you were working on. Comparing a 60-second run on big targets with a 30-second run on small ones tells you nothing.
Nothing is measured but you
Your times are measured, shown to you, and go no further. There is no global ranking to appear on, which also means nobody has a reason to cheat their way onto one.
The figures come from the browser's own high-resolution clock, so they are as accurate as your screen allows — a 60Hz display cannot reveal a target sooner than every sixteen milliseconds, and that floor is inside every number here.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good time per target?
On medium targets, most people settle somewhere between 500 and 700 milliseconds once they stop rushing. Under 400 with accuracy above 90% is genuinely quick. The number only means something against your own earlier runs on the same settings.
Does this help with games?
It trains the part of aiming that is moving a pointer to a spot and stopping there, which is real but narrow. It does nothing for tracking a moving target or for knowing where to look, and those are usually what is actually missing.
Why does the round end before I expect it to?
In the two timed modes the clock starts on your first click, not when the page loads. In target mode there is no clock at all — it ends after thirty hits.
